The buttons were intimidating because they looked very complicated, especially for a 7 year old. After watching the demo play, it looked like a really neat game because it reminded me of Conan The Barbarian movie. Some of the games I can recall included Altered Beast, Golden Axe, Cabal, Dynasty Warriors, Ninja Gaiden, Final Fight, Rastan, POW, Shinobi, Street Fighter II, Mortal Kombat, and Vigilante. Most, if not all have become classic in today’s time. From time to time, the store would remove the old arcades and replace them with new arcades after a few months. There were at least 3 arcades standing at one time. I still remember the type of games that they had. Whenever she goes there, I get myself excited not because I wanted to pick out groceries for her or get some candy for myself, but because there were arcades in the store. There was a Super A Foods near where I lived. Moms find that the arcade spot provided a way for their kids to pass the time without getting themselves into trouble. Back in the 80’s and 90’s, the time period when I grew up, grocery stores and convenient stores had arcades where parents can do their shopping while their young ones stayed in one spot playing video games.
